Loriana (Lunds) is an artist from Italy (Rome) living and working in London. She spent some time abroad working as a theater make-up artist, pantomime and as a contemporary dancer. She studied with Marcel Marceau and Lindsay Kemp, further developing her artistic skills and opening towards new forms of expression. Through this artistic path she arrived to the discovery of felting and textile. She found in the plasticity of the materials (wool in several qualities, silk, cotton, velvet……) the same freedom to express herself and her personality and creativity as when she was a dancer….this is the reason why she created FeltRevolution!!
Loriana graduated in 2008 at the City and Guilds of London Institute in Design and Craft, Constructed Textile (Felt making) after 3 years of studies and she had the chance to improve the techniques of felt and textiles. She also studied with Karoliina Arvilommi and Vilte Kazlauskaite.
She is member of the International Felt Association and participated in several expositions with her wall hangings and pictures. In May 2012 Lunds’ artwork “The Mystical”, made of classic homemade felt and needle technique, was successfully selected from the Royal Academy of Arts in London for participating to the “Summer Exhibition 2012”. In October 2012 Lunds’ pieces have been selected and exposed in the Galleria Rayko Alexiev in Sofia (Bulgaria) for a Contemporary Art exhibition. In December 2012 she also exposed at the the Miami River International Art Fair.
In July 2014 she participated in an exhibition, the Artfordable Fair at “13 The Gallery” in London, in September 2014 she also exhibited at “54 The Gallery” in Mayfair London and in November she was selected by the Saatchi Gallery for the Saatchi Screen exhibition.
In July 2016 “Shimai” artwork was exhibited at the 11th International Biennial Exhibition of Contemporary Textile Art “Scythia”, Kherson, Ukraine.
In July 2017 “Rubberband Girl” artwork has been exhibited at the 8th International Exhibition Mini Textile Art, Kherson, Ukraine.
In June 2018 “Snow Words” artwork was exhibited at the 12th International Biennial Exhibition of Contemporary Textile Art “Scythia”, Kherson, Ukraine.
In 2018 Loriana exhibited at “54 The Gallery” in Mayfair London from July 9 to 15.
In 2020 the artwork “Inner Spark” was selected for the online exhibition “Kaleidoscope” organized by the International Feltmaker Association.
In 2021 the artwork “Gli Acrobati” (The Acrobats) was selected for the online exhibition “Re-Connect” organized by the International Feltmaker Association.
In 2022 at the Big Textile Fair at Leicester Racecourse with “Soft touch”.
In 2023 Flora and Faune Exhibition with “Hope”.
In 2023 participation at the “La Foret” (The Forest) project in France for the 7th European Days of Felt.
Loriana is currently working for creating new artworks after her success in several exhibitions and she sells her artworks privately.
